yes you need a bypass to get on bo2 without getting an almost instant ban. a good tool that has a bypass is y0da pro all you have to do is sign out launch the bo2 default_mp.xex then activate the bypass, wait 30 seconds then click xbox live to sign in (don't use the xbox guide)

BO2 and Ghosts are the only games you need a ban bypass for.

Personally, I like Black and White for the UI. There really isn't much of a difference between the two tools.
