So currently my PC is in my room which is on the 2nd floor of my house. My router however is on the first floor. My problem is that my download speeds are EXTREMELY slow. Most of the time I download at maybe 700 KBps. Every so often it drops to BYTES a second. Is their anyway to speed these up? I was kind of looking into a wifi range extender, but I'm not sure if that's what I need. Thanks for any replies.

What wireless router do you have? If it's an old one I would look into upgrading it instead of getting an range extender. If it's possible for you to get a ethernet cord up to your room I would also try doing that but that can be a project since your router and room are on different floors.

Also, what piece of hardware are you using to connect your PC to your WIFI?

If the PC and the router in a general area but just on different floors just run an ethernet cord up there. I have a few coming from the other side of my house through the ceiling for my consoles+PC

I'm currently using a USB wifi adapter to connect to my router. I've tried multiple Wifi adapter cards that use the PCI slots, but all of them have had slower speeds than my USB adapter. Running an Ethernet cord from the router to my room is not an option. I an probably just gonna buy a range extender and see how that does.

I had this problem when I first moved into my new house, and we called our internet company. They came and looked at everything and one of the cords they gave us was faulty, so they replaced it and now we have lightning speed internet. Maybe you should try that. It's just a thought.
