I lucid dream all the time lol. I thought it was cool at first, I was really confused and amazed how much control you have in your dreams, and how aware you are, but it happens so much now that it seems normal. Like 3-4 times a week whenever I wake up, I will be kinda out of it, and I'll lay back down, and be asleep for what seems like an hour, but it was really like 5 minutes. In that 5 minutes, I have full control over my dreams while still knowing I am asleep. It is a pretty fun experience.

One does not simply lucid dream. It kinda just happens. You'll know you are having a lucid dream when you have one. Like it's hard to explain, but you're just 'aware' of whats happening. If you really wanted to force one, there is a study that showed that drinking a lot of apple juice before bed can provoke them.

I personally don't have to wake up and be drowsy when trying to Lucid dream... I just kinda go to bed thinking about what a I wanna dream about. I then can control dreams pretty well at times Lots of fun it can be xD

Lucid dreams are the best kind of dreams, especially if you have "full" control over what's happening in the dream. It is a lot of fun when you get used to doing it.

It sounds like you experienced sleep paralysis. This happens from time to time to everyone. Most people will experience this once in their lifetime. This has happened to me twice. It is harmless and nothing to worry about. What happens is when you fall asleep you body goes into a paralysis so you can not move and hurt yourself in your sleep. Well, your body woke up but not completely. The chemical which causes your body to go into the paralysis state is still active. The effects will go away after a few minutes and you will be able to move normally. You may hallucinate but do not worry, you are safe.
Lucid dreaming is more of controlling what you do in your dreams. Such as your actions and movements. For example I once had a lucid dream, in which my family was getting attacked and I took control of the situation and saved my family.
Just next time you experience anything in your sleep, stay calm and don't worry. Everything will be fine. Sorry for the long post, just trying to help and explain.

I've tried lucid dreaming, but usually fail. I have had instances here and there where I could control my dream, but it didn't last long. I have read some techniques only on how to do it, but never could do it to where I got a lot of time to play around in my dream world.
