I really like this, but the vanguard stands out too much I think. You know more than me about this stuff, just my thought

It's a nice piece don't get me wrong.
But there's just something missing.
The shading and colouring etc is all very nicely done.
The one thing that is standing out to me...
It's too obvious that you did one side -
then just copied and flipped it over.
Sure, that's the easiest way to do it, most designers/illustrators do...
But I think you couldn't added/changed a few details on each side it would look more - realistic?
Other-than that, it's really nice!

Yeah, I did that with the outline and some lighting and shading.
Save's a lot of time with trying to get everything to look right, and proportional.
The textures aren't though.
Plus, I love symmetry anyway, so I don't mind it.
But I do see what you mean.
