Microsoft is set to stop supporting Windows 7 in January 2015. Microsoft will continue to provide free security fixes, but hot fix updates will need to be paid for.

I've had Windows 8.1 for some time now and it is so much better than Windows 7.

I completely disagree but that's why we get a choice.

"However, the company's extended support for Windows 7 will be continued for at least the next five years."

They will still have support for windows 7 until 2020 from the looks it. It looks like the corporate world had a say in this, as most companies just got transition over to windows 7 after the windows xp end of life. I know I will be looking into this a lot in the future.

I fully agree and believe IMO that this is a correct opinion.

I agree, it took me a while to get used to it but now I like it and I've never had any problems with it.

Not really.

Microsoft wants people to buy their next product, Windows 9/10

Hopefully, Windows 9 will be like what Windows 7 was compared to vista. Looks like its going that way with the negativity of Windows 8

Windows 8.1 is better than Windows 7 IMO, but ending support so soon when the vast majority of people still have 7 is a really bad idea and will make people lose faith/trust in MS products.
