There is a really easy solution to this, however, staff will probably never do it.
Everyone registers with an email, so if you're inactive for a certain time [1 year for example] you should be sent an email and you have 30 days to visit the site/login to your account.
If you fail to do so their name should be available again.

Yeah i like this idea and i think it would work out well, Really no flaws in it man.

It annoyed me at first cos when I got gifted I wanted so many names but they had all been taken. And the account were all un-active or banned. Doesn't bother me now though as I have my dream name

besides if they took a username that you wanted but you yourself

Yeh i find that people that just make these accounts and never come back pisses me off as well. Especially seeing as they are taking up usernames which people may want to use.

Pretty much i was that leech that everyone hated just a few years back this only really bothers me if they take a username i wanted.

What if the person forgets the email they've registered with, or has moved on to another "main" email that they now use?

Lol, you're just lovely aren't ya. But i couldn't agree more.

It would be nice to have the ability to change your username to an unused account as there are many good ones taken.
With that being said it just isn't going to happen as staff have said that they will not allow us to change our name to theirs just because they are inactive.
