Payday The Heist will not start up on my computer and im just wondering why it wont start up i just get a black screen then it takes me back to the desktop and all i hear is the music and cant see the game.Any help would be great right now thanks

It's a resolution problem.

Firstly try this,

Go to your steam library and locate the game then right click on it and select properties,
then go to launch options and type "-windowed" without the quotation marks try that, if it doesn't work do the same thing again but type "-safe" if either one of these works then let the game launch and then in the options setup the correct resolution for your game. If neither of those worked you need to do the following,

Open up the start menu and type "%appdata%" again without the quotation marks and hit enter, with the folder that has now popped up you want to go back one page so click on appdata in the little search bar you will now need to click on the local folder and locate Payday The Heist and open up the folder, in this folder there should be a file called renderer_settings and it should be in XML format, open it up and from here you can either set your windowed mode to true or false and or manually change the resolution to what ever your correct resolution is then simply close and save it.
