My disc tray is messed up. (two buzzes and won't spin at all) I'm wondering if I should fix it myself or just buy a new one. I own a white 360 (fat edition)

Every xbox has a dvd key, unless it's a jtag/rgh that can run unsigned code you'll have to replace it if the drive is ****.Try cleaning it or identifying the problem you can replace parts like the lens that may get it working again

You may have to get a new dvd drive if cleaning it does not work and if you plan on getting a new drive make sure its the same model as the dvd drive you have in you xbox and just switch the PCB boards and it should work.

It's worth it to try to fix it first, and if that doesn't work (doesn't always), then buy a new one.

Try cleaning the eye of the drive, and if you are willing enough, try to replace it. However this may not be the problem, so be warned of that.

However, it is worth trying to fix it without opening it first, a video (low quality, sorry), that I found shows 3 ways to try. I've never tried these so no grantee these will work, but it's worth it to try at least.
