So let's get the basics out of they way . I'm 17 so I can start driving lessons and I have a job which will get me about 600-1000 every month. And I'm looking at buying my first car . I'm currently looking at a 350z because they are cheap to insure for what they are (4000 per year give or take). I was just wondering if with 600-1000 a month I could afford to run it. I've looked into it a lot statistics wise but I would like a real world opinion Thanks.

If you're UK, don't get a 350Z. If you really like that car, then save up for a few years and get yourself a 370Z. In the mean time, get a small engined car which is cheap to insure.

Know anything specific which is real cheap to insure?

I'm UK and have been looking for a first car recently. I've had a long look and insurance is going to be around £1500 for a year, regardless. 2000 VW Lupo 1L is £1300 or so for insurance and about £900 to buy. 2007 Suzuki Swift 1.3L is about £1600 to insure and £3500 or so to buy. VW Golf MK3(1995ish) are about £1700 to insure and can be bought for anything between £600-£1200 for a decent one.

This way, if you're making around £800 a month, save for the first year and you'd have £9500 or so. Within 2-3 years, you could buy yourself a nice 370Z and have a nice NCD on your insurance policy so insurance would be mush cheaper for you.

Lol saying a 350z is cheap to insure doesn't even make sense... Insurance on a sports car, for a male under 25 is not cheap. Apparently you're rich I guess. Find a car you can pay in full up front with cash or whatever and then you shouldn't have any need to spend that much monthly... Even with insurance. Unless you travel retardedly for work, you will probably not even use all that much gas.Mine's $80 per fill up, but I only do that every 2 weeks or so.

Lets just say owning and driving a car is not cheap, gas, insurance, tickets, repairs.

Looks like you can afford a 350z, go for it 2 seat roadster will be fun.
