I was wondering if anyone on here skated? I have recently got a new skateboard and am starting to learn to skate. I am not very good but practice makes perfect, right?!

I have a Santa Cruz deck with Spitfire bearings, Panic wheels and Orion trucks. It's not really a new board, it's one of my dad's old ones but he gave it to me as a beginner board. I will be replacing the deck soon with a Santa Cruz Yeti hand deck.
What board do you guys have?

Are you all good at skating? How can I learn quickly and easily? How often should I skate and what tricks are easiest to learn? Any tips for me?

Note to staff- I apologise if this is against the rules. I wasn't too sure. If this does break any rule, please remove the topic and again, I apologise.

If you want to practice doing tricks, find a ledge or rail to hold onto. That way you can practice ollies and kickflips and it's alot easier.

I totally agree, when I started learning ollies I was pretty bad, so I grabbed on a wall and practiced like that.

The deck that I have at the moment is :

Flip 8.0 deck w/ jessup grip tape

Bones STF 52 or 53mm

Bones swiss bearings

Independent Stage 11 trucks.

That's my deck setup atm it's pretty good.

For shoes I skate Emerica's.

I've been skating for almost a year now. I can't do much, but I can ;

Ollie (While moving)
Shuv it (While moving)
Pop-shuvit (While moving)
Frontside 180 (While moving)
Kickflip (Almost while moving)

That's about it, I would skate more, but the weather's crappy is England

And really you can't learn to skate easy everyone finds different tricks hard and progresses at their own pace. Try and skate for at least 1 hour a week. I skate around 30 minutes Monday-Friday and 3-7 hours Saturday-Sunday

I skate! I've skated for a couple of months and I've been getting on well, I have an Enjoi board, Spit Fire wheels, enuff bearings and enuff trucks. Like lease said, get a ledge or something to hold onto, it makes it a lot easier to start out.

I skate a blank deck 7.9 I believe or 8.0. Some Bones Swiss bearings and bones wheels. Nikes, remember that everyone progresses at different levels, and watch videos if you can to try and learn from that also. Get as much skate time as possible and dont be afraid to try new things. You will fall but you need to get back up and try again.

I would for sure recommend Zero, Alien Workshop, Plan B, or Element boards.
I would suggest Thunder Trucks
Also with Spitfire, Element or Zoo York wheels
And the bearings as Reds

That is my best recommendation. I used to skate but I quit because of High School and Work.

I used to be sponsored by a local Skate Shop and Zumiez in my area. Keep practicing and you will get really good. ALSO try new things. Many skaters in my area do the same thing and dont get any better.. Try new combinations and new ways to do things.

Enjoi decks are really good skateboards:P
You're right there. Enjoi decks are fantastic. I was going to buy the rasta panda deck as a local shop had them on sale at 30GBP but they were out of stock when I went in to purchase

I have skated before, 8 years ago but was never really good. Never learned any tricks, or even an ollie. I had a Zoo York deck and have tried my friends Enjoi deck. Both of these are great, as well as Santa Cruz.

Thanks to Lease for the info.

I skate as often as I can, usually I will make some friends come out to learn with me

Nice to see the amount of skaters on here and nice to see the amount of feedback and discussion going on here.
