Football is probably the best sport you can support but as your American it won't be as big.

Best way is to actually go to games away and at home and just show your support.

I would find a player you find "attractive", not sexually obviously, but one you think is cool/charismatic. Then just follow that player! OR a home state/town team. There are plenty of ways to make anything exciting!

Honestly the best way to get a real understanding of a sport is playing it in real life. You'll get more of understanding in regards to learning the rules, tactics etc.

Go for your hometown team or local team. Dont be a fan because a team is good. Go for one team and stay with them. Im from chicago, so i go for Bears Bulls Whitesox and Blackhawks. Also playing the sport will give you a deeper understanding.

It's the most watched sport in the world, of course it's exciting.
