So basically, I bought a steam key from a website, and paid via PayPal which my debit card is linked to. If i didn't have enough money in my bank, would the transaction still proceed?

I am asking because I don't think i had enough in my bank, but the transaction went through and i got the Steam Key.

Yes, you will be charged a fee from your bank, because you didn't have the money for the purchase.

If it's a credit card it will work since you borrow money from the bank.

It depends what bank your with. You might be charged anywhere from: $15-$38 for a $10 or below purchase and much higher if it was a higher value product.

I have just been on my bank website and this is what i found.

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Does this mean i won't be charged..

A payment from your account takes you into an informal overdraft by less than 10.
You are overdrawn or over your limit for one day during the month.

Charge: 0
