I'm in a long distance relationship with a friend I met four years ago. After sometime, we finally decided on giving it a try and date. He lives four states away, so it isn't too bad. We met through a mutual interest site (No, not pr0n.), so it was an instant friendship. I've had real relationships and long distance ones, honestly, the people I meet around here are dull/fake/lack common interests/etc. But when I meet them over something that we both enjoy (We even have the interest of gaming, which we often do together.), it's just better. I've been happier with long distance relationships, sure it gets lonely but I guess I'm used to that.

I total agree with this rant my mate in the UK had a
online relationship with a girl in Florida...Over xbox
but it will cost about 1000 on either one of their part
for them to meet once for a fixed period of time and
then would it not be weird meeting them in person
bearing in mind how you contact without being face to face
for long periods of time and then there is so much opening
to just meeting new partners it is pointless in my view

I would personally never be able to long distance date.

The only way I possibly could, was if I had met the person face to face and fell in love then, and then they or I had to move away - but I couldn't willingly go into a relationship where I haven't met the person face to face.

There isn't really a right or wrong with this. It's just down to the people.

However I personally think if that's how they are happy to do things, then let them. Some people do actually talk for years and years, and finally meet, and that's it.

There was a video on Facebook a couple months back where a couple lived the other side of the world, and they were speaking for 4 years, and they finally met each other, and that was it.

I would not date long distance but I don't think its pathetic or wrong. I think if the person is happy and satisfied they should be together. I know 2-3 people who had long distance relationships they all married and moved together. Love is not just a feel of a women/man but rather there personality. I rather date someone long distance that has a awesome personality rather then dating someone for there feels or special moments. I feel if they like each other they can.
