An 8's lobby is where you get 8 people to join in to a private match, and then it's basically turned into a pickup basketball game. Two captains are chosen and they each choose their players respectively. You'll more than likely play MLG variant gametypes, so like Blitz, Domination, and Search and Destroy, each on the maps chosen.
