so this is my first nba game and i can't get the timing down at all anyone got any advice cus my shot percentage is awful , will +rep if that's any incentive

Just go to the practice mode, and do "freestyle" and it allows you to just shoot around in a court by yourself.

Make sure shot feedback is on. Should be under options and then presentation. Also when shooting look for a white flash in the circle around your guy, that lets you know to release. Other than that take those tips and go shoot around in freestyle.
