So i was told to ask for my income tax money tomorrow, so i will be doing that, BUT i owe the government 2,000 dollars because of something **** up that happened, will they just deduct the 1,000$ i have and i will get nothing? if so that sucks Just wondering as this is the first time i've gotten my own income tax. If not yay i can buy the xbox one and DR3 tomorrow

Yes they will most likely take it and then you will also owe money on top of that. This also happened to me a few years ago.

I never have ran into a situation like yours where I owe the government $2000, but my guess is they will either make you pay the $2000 first, or they will deduct it. It is usually how they deal with things on this subject. My uncle who is an accountant gave me this answer.
