Ok so I just bought a Sony Optiarc High Speed Sata DVD-RW Burner Drive. When ever I hook it up to my laptop it says it says "USB device not recognized". I have Lenovo laptop and it has Windows 7 if that matters.

Try going to the sony website and looking for the drivers for that DVD drive , this should help your pc recognise the device
