Last night a kid by the name Andre Maloney was playing in a high school football game. He was a superstar football player who had commited to KU on a full ride for football after his junior year. His athleticism was unreal and his play was just a walking highlight reel. Well last night Andre caught a 63-yard TD. It was just another to add to the numerous others he's had. As Andre walked to his sideline he started stumbling. The teams running back asked him if he was alright and he said he couldn't feel the right side of his face.

That is when he walked over to grab a water bottle. As he took the water he suddenly collapsed on the sideline from a stroke. His entire right side of his body became paralyzed and he was rushed to the hospital. Doctors found out that Andre had a blood clot in his lower leg for some time and he never realized it. After time the clot moved up to his brain and stopped blood from flowing into it. Andre was then immediately put into brain surgery.

The original surgery went well but this morning Andre had to get another surgery. Doctors then realized that it was worse than they had expected. There was nothing they could do to prevent Andre from passing away. He passed away this morning and people all around the metro have been in shock that something like this could happen to such an amazing kid and athlete.

The reason I'm writing this is because I was friends with Andre. He was a dedicated hardworking athlete who was always in a good mood. He is now my inspiration to live everyday as if it's my last. If you would like please tweet #RIPAndre in respect to the death of a great kid.
