Hi,

I bought a new laser for my Xenon xbox the the 943 DVD drive. I took off the anti static solder ball and put it into the drive. It did not read any games and I noticed that my laser is no longer moving along it's tracks like it used to when it would read a game. So I thought it was just a bad laser so I put my old one back in and i'm still getting the same error. My laser no longer moves along the tracks when it reads a disk. It just sits in the same place. Did my new laser somehow ruin my DVD controller board? I tried the new laser in another DVD drive and I got the same result, that DVD drive also no longer moves the laser along the tracks when it tries to read a game.

Probably a dead motor, or the drive isn't greased up. I would just buy a new drive in general. No hassle and it will read games 100 times better than how it is now.
