A cfg is a configuration file . They come with most games to set configs. Like on Call of Duty you need to configurat a lot of user setting so there is a cfg for that .

A modified cfg is a config file that has been edited / tampered with . The cfgs I am supposing you're talking about are linked through game saves . In Call of Duty you can only use game known commands inside that file . SO something like

bind DPAD_UP "vstr 1"
set 1"Bind dpad_right god;bind dpad_left noclip"

and so forth . You can get these by simply just going on youtube and searching for one. You can also make one which is easy if you know the language .

You use it by going to your GRAD0_MP ( Multiplayer ) or GRAD0_CM or BB ( Zombies ) putting your exec code there and then placing your cfg in the root of your usb . Your GRAD0 files are in your game save which you have to transfer from your PS3 to PC ( Really easy )
