I have computer knowledge but i want to make sure i have it all. ]
So i downloaded a game on my PC here and it shouldnt take too much processing power or anything to run. I have pretty much everything as low as it can go and im having issues with it lagging. I am thinking it is either my processor or my video card although im not entirely sure.
If anything, im sure its my processor. but im about 70% sure. I also have nothing else open or running while playing the game!
My question is what causes a PC game to lag?

I am willing to upgrade a bit but i want to make sure i know what i need to upgrade 1st!

My Basic Specs (let me know if you need more):
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ 2.00GHz
4gb of RAM

You're going to have to post your video card as well, that's a big component.

List the full spec of your PC and the game you were trying to run. You have to put a lot more detail into these kind of posts.

Your GPU is your main problem by the looks of it. Your computer is very very outdated to even play Minecraft. I suggest you save a bit of money up and build/buy a better computer. Honestly this computer will not run anything, you should try sell it to get you started off.

I would reccomend a upgrade your computer was outdated a while ago, that's if your looking to use it for modern things and don't want to play pinball on xp, that's if you can run it
