Been having some trouble with my iPhone 4S 16 GB lately, got the screen repaired a week ago and the day after this happened [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] . not sure how to fix it but it's really bothering me now that half of my iPhone's space is nothing. Anyone know how to fix?
EDIT: I have already restored as new phone, then restored it with a backup and the problem is still not solved. I noticed on my device under Usage that photos takes up 4.1 GB yet I only have 36 pictures on the phone altogether.

Im guessing this is a jailbroken device is it not? If it is then certain jailbreaks require more data be "reserved" for lack of a better term for optimal usage, Also some jailbroken apps run totally in the background where you cannot clear them from your task manager not allowing you to free up the rest of your ram.

Wow man! What kind of apps do you have downloaded? What ever it is they require a lot of storage. Delete all apps you do not need. Then I would talk to your service provider to see what's up.

I would personally restore to factory defaults. Then boot it up and see if the problem has been fixed. If not PM me and ill help you further.

This happened to be not to long ago. I just restored via iTunes and everything was fine after that. Make sure you have a back up though.

Restore your iPhone, if that fails I'd recommend a trip to the apple store.

Exactly wut mr woobie said. Restore it as a new phone. If not bring it to an apple store and they'll fix it.

Have updated the topic, I've already restored my phone and everything, nothing has worked so far.
