After giving the guy the amulet in the ragged flagen, i got ganged-bang by a group of people? And i watch youtube videos on this quest and this never happened to any of them.

What names did these people who "Ganged-bang" you? I'm guessing the names were something like "Hired Thug" which is normal if you have ever stolen from or killed a named NPC.
