Just look.
I pay the most popular Internet service provider $130AUD a month for the best plan in Sydney/my state. I pay for 100 megabytes per second NOT megabits and 500gbs a month.
Here is my wireless speed which i thought was megabytes but is actually megabits.

You can change your settings by clicking "settings" at the top left hand side.

Some people may no this already but i bet a decent amount don't.
At the bottom of the settings page you will find your test settings "Which by default is set to Megabits"
Assuming you all pay for Megabytes per second not Megabits this might anger you a little.

You can change the test from Megabits to Megabytes and click save.
You will get this message: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Click take test and look at the sad truth.
Here is my new result: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] !!!
That's 2.6 megs per second! Meaning my ISP dose not give me 97 out of 100 mbps.
I have had a technician come out to check all of my cables and mode. Everything was good. I have also been told that it is 100 Megabytes i am not mistaking it for Megabits.
The reason i posted this is to notify you or anyone who is being screwed over by their ISP.

It actually frustrates me that internet providers do this. If i pay them my hard earned money i expect them to provide the service that i pay for.

Most companies protect themselves by selling a product "Up to xxMb/s" and even then it depends on line quality, distance from the exchange and the network in your home.
I found an increase in speed and a drop in latency by changing Cat5e cables for Cat6a cables which offer higher bandwidth.

I still need to call and fix my speed up. With an Ethernet cable ill get 90-130 Mbps so i guess that's still ok.
