I live near one of the best naval bases in the US, and I feel like my city is a primary target for a terrorist attack, but it has never happened yet. Also, if I do join the military, the only way to protect yourself is to shoot other people.

Something recently that happened this year involved a cop shooting someone 16 times because he was trying to defend himself. The other guy didn't even have a weapon on him, WTF.
