An RGH is a reset glitch hack. It takes longer to boot up than a jtag because it's only a hack. A jtag does the same as an RGH but is also different because it's not a glitch it's a rewiring of the motherboard. I too am looking to buy one and have decided that I want a jtag just because it boots up faster than the RGH. Hope you find one.

As most have probably told you already, JTAG & RGH achieve the same thing. The differences is that JTAG is a software based mod while RGH is hardware based.

JTAG was only possible on phat consoles with dash 7371 or below, mainly dependant on the exploitable CB rather than the dash it self. While RGH is possible on all consoles includes all slim models and boards regardless of dash/CB.

JTAG is pretty much instant booter with 1st cycle while RGH can vary from 1 cycle to any number of cycles ranging on average 5-40 seconds.

There are 2 types of RGH (3 if you take into account the new hybrid R-JTAG). RGH1 which only works on single CB dash up to 14699 and RGH2.0 which works with dual CB. It's worth mentioning that Slims always used RGH2 but it wasn't named RGH2 early days because there was no need to differentiate between the two until MS decided to upgrade all phats from single CB to dual CB. RGH1 produced pretty much instant booters with the odd ones taking few more cycles to boot but most of times console boots within 1st cycle.

R-JTAG was introdcued to try to improve on the bad boot times RGH2.0 produced on phat consoles. Since Slims seemed to boot within 5-15 seconds on average, phats were taking anyhing 5 seconds to 3 or 5 minutes to boot on some cases. This as well as getting come Zepher boards to boot which never booted before either with RGH1 or RGH2.0.

Cost wise JTAG is the cheapest to achieve since you only need 2 switching diodes and 1 resistor while RGH, RGH2 & R-JTAG requires extra hardware besides the initial hardware needed to read and write the console's NAND.

Your more likely to get an RGH console rather than a JTAG since phat consoles with dash 7371 or below are near impossible to find or if they exist they are so old that they eventually RROD after some time of use (unless they get reballed but again that's another story for another time).

I think I will end this essay for now and go get a drink but there's always room for more
