So I'm buying a gaming pc my friend built. Here are the specs. Are these good to play most games on high settings? He didn't list brands. These are exactly as he listed them.

Acre sli motherboard 775
4gigs ddr2 850mhz ram
2gts 450 graphic cards in sli
Xfi titanium gaming sound card
Water cooled with zalman reserstor 1 cooling system

No not at all, this is an awful build! Why the hell would you SLI one of the worst GPU's that you could find? No build should be using DDR2 RAM either, you don't even have a HDD, PSU or Optical Drive there.

C'mon bud, you should be able to deduce that this is an old build, very old at that. This build was pretty sweet back in the day, I'm sure it has trouble keeping up nowadays.

OP, how much does he want for the build? I personally still wouldn't buy it because it's old technology and a newer mid-range build would easily outperform it.

Yeah he built this almost 4 years ago. He's asking for my current laptop (Sony vaio) and $150.

What are the specs of your Vaio/how many years ago did you purchase it?

He asked whether it would hold up against games on high settings, so I answered honestly. Don't down vote a comment for no reason, especially when it's entirely true.

I did slightly misread the post though, initially I thought it said that you were building a gaming PC and your friend gave you the specifications. Don't buy it, build your own.

It's probably not worth it, your laptop is likely more valuable than this PC, that's disregarding the extra $150 straight off.

Could I build a better one with $500?
