when someone 'bumps' a topic they are moving it to the top of all the topics so more people can read it...

it isnt advised to do it because your most likely gonna get flamed for spamming or something but, its also considered as

bumping is when people put a reply of "bump" so people will see the topic again on the recent activity that way it will get noticed more

people bump a topic cos they believe it may get lost along the line, so they bump it(add a new post) so it goes back on the first page of posts
