Hi,

I have two Xenon xbox 360's that have red ringed on my a few times. After a while my reflowing would not work, they would red ring after about 30 minutes. I gave up on them and just put them away. Then I got to thinking that maybe it was the heat sink that was not keeping the GPU cool enough. So I came up with this idea and it worked! My xbox's do not red ring anymore. It was tricky to get it just right (the screw pressure), but after playing with the tightness of the screws a bit I got it to work.

1. Get two pennies
2. Get thermal paste
3. Put your thermal paste on the gpu
4. Place one penny on each part of the GPU that pops up (the shinny part)
5. Place the heat sink back on and screw it down.
6. Do not over screw the heat sink because you will flex the board and possibly break it.
7. If done right, you should no longer have to worry about your xbox (phat) red ringing. I don't.

note. This is a last resort method, if you can't fix your xbox with a regular reflow and your local xbox repair guy says to trash your xbox and get a new one. Then I suggest to try this fix.
