I had a picture of myself in my avatar, until people started saying stuff about "dude get that girl off your avatar"

Yeah, it is weird isn't it. Just like when people have their name and the fact they're a Gold member printed on their avatar.

That was clearly sarcasm. It's not weird, at all. Some of the people with girl's as avatars are actually girls. Maybe the girls being used as avatars(by guys) are models or maybe even the guys girlfreind? There are plenty of reasons to use a girl as an avatar, the same as I use a Ford F-100 as my avatar because alongside the Chevy C10, it's my dream truck(even though I'm British). I think it's weird when like 10 year old kids use avatars of half naked girls but other than that, there's not really a problem with it, it doesn't affect anyones life so why care about someone else's avatar?

But anyways, I do find it a little strange when everyone has girl avatars. But then again, I'm not surprised because most of us are gamers, and look at games like GoW where everyone used female characters. I feel like it's kind of the same fundamental. Unlike the cartoon avatars that everyone used a couple weeks ago, the girl avatar trend on here will probably never end.

Some of them are supposed to be there, like models, they take picture's mainly for entertainment and commercials etc. but I think they are aware that those pictures will get spread over internet fast, and for them it could be good, maybe people would like to see more of that model, and they could earn more money on it.

As for private taken pictures, it isn't creepy at all in my opinion, unless it's like a nude pic of someone you know, but that's just a picture like any other picture over the internet.

Its not all THAT creepy. Well... It isn't if they ARE a girl... Or if they're dating said girl... But 9/10 that's not the case so... I guess it's a bit creepy.

All the people contradicting themselves here are just stupid, it was funny the first few times but its old already. Personally girl avatars are used a lot because they are nice to look at and look good, its our profiles we can do what we want. I use Ariana Grande because lets face it, she is a beautiful girl and nice to look at on my posts. If the picture is downloaded from the internet I think its ok, if it is a girl from their Facebook or something like that though, its personal and shouldn't be used in my opinion.
