Inb4 topic is closed and warnings are issued for everyone. For real though. While I agree, topics like this are just going to make people get more warnings since nobody likes being called out.

I don't see any reason to close it. It's not like our goal is to punish people; it's to make sure people follow the rules and get rule-breaking content off the forums. Warnings are not like parking tickets and we don't WANT to give them out for any reason. Warnings are used to inform you that you broke a rule so you don't do it again. Staff handle themselves maturely and if one of us does something wrong, you should let someone know. You should PM a staff member about something like that. We can handle being wrong. The Ask the Staff section is always open as well.

As for General Discussion, I can understand how it could be unclear what sort of topics are acceptable and what are not. Just remember that you're on "TheTechGame." If a topic has no reason to be here, then you can expect it to be deleted.

Something I should mention for a topic like this is that you shouldn't post about warnings you have received on the forums. Please keep this in mind.

1.17 Posting of information related to warnings you have received will not be tolerated. They are for you only and no one else to see. This rule applies site-wide unless stated otherwise by a staff member.

So the general discussion section isn't an off-topic section similar to 'The Flood' on Bungie.net? That's what I always seen it as. At least I know for future reference.

I believe the general consensus is that it is a section for topics that are somewhat relevant to technology and gaming (hence the site name) or the site itself. If you use your judgement or even PM a staff member before posting a topic, you'll be fine. I am noticing a lot of confusion about what should go in the section, so if you have any suggestions, maybe we could make some changes. We'd love to hear your thoughts in the Site Enhancements & Feedback section.

OG-Gamertag wrote I only agree with this regarding the rule of 'Mini-modding'.

I honestly think people should only get warnings for this rule if they say "This is against the rules, you're going to receive a warning/ban" or something against those lines, not if somebody calls out a ban evader or says something like "Illegitimate hoster".

There's a difference between helping out a new member and acting like a moderator. You should not get a warning for the former, that's ridiculous, but the latter is just unnecessary. If you really want to help us, just report the topic and we will handle it. If it's in the wrong section, instead of posting "This should go in the ______ forum," just use the "Wrong section" option when reporting so we can move the topic and notify the poster. If you are posting for no other reason than to point out that someone has broken the rules, expect a warning. It's spamming and you need to let us do our job. The same goes for members with multiple accounts, hosting illegitimate lobbies, etc. I hope this helped clear some things up for you.

Its their job as Moderators to Moderate, if they feel like something has to be closed/someone has to be banned then so be it
