That's the system memory I included for this build. The modules are shorter than most, but since they use very low voltage to get the standard 1600 CAS 9, they're very high-quality.

Any reason to spend the extra $15 or so to get the 'higher quality' RAM?

I don't see anything else worth getting that's more than $2 cheaper. This is a good option but for $2 it's worth it to have the kit that gets better timings with lower voltage. RAM is expensive right now.

r00t wrote The 7850 will be $180 as opposed to $110 for the 7770. It's a pretty big gap and AMD actually just announced the 7790 to fill it at an intermediate price point. It is to be released on April 2nd.

All of these are compatible.

Wow I didn't know they were releasing a 7790! Sounds great for what I would use a computer for, thanks r00t.

Found [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] on Amazon. $16 cheaper. Not often Newegg gets beat though, so I just assume you didn't browse Amazon.

I didn't and I don't recommend high-profile kits. They only cause problems.

Most prebuilts are never worth the price. Even with a company like origin who build good computers for a good price compared to other gaming pc companies. This computer [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] with out customizing it is $1,225. A company like alienware would probably try and sale it for like $1,500. You can build that computer for about $800 (give or take $100 or so because of the cpu cooler I can't find. So they profit $300 from the build. Alienware probably gets like a $500+ profit from their computers.
