You must be crazy if you think a sub-1k laptop can play BF3 on Ultra. My computer cost 1k and I can JUST BARELY get a good framerate on Ultra.
That second laptop with the 640M you may be able to play in medium-low, and it's better than the laptop with the AMD GPU.

Also note that I'm recording and running video editing software while playing my games.
