Probably because you're one of the only countries that legally allow civilians to own guns, and coincidentally you have the highest gun crime rate and homicide rate. Yeah, nice one.

Your tone is kind of annoying. You act like your mad at the situation and it isn't even your country. Maybe if you lived here all your life, you too would understand. Who really wants their rights taken from them? Especially from a president named Barack Hussein Obama?

It doesn't have to be my country to make me mad? I feel for the families that lost their little kids because some maniac bought a legal fire-arm went into a school and shot the kids. Yeah, I understand your point about having your rights taken away, but surely people dying is worse than having no guns.

Ok you can't just go and ban everything that could be used as a weapon for psychotic individuals. The mass shooting that have happened recently have both been from pretty messed up people (Movie theater and Sandy Hook). Kids died, adults died. I'll say it again, we need better security in schools. You don't need to bring up the kids in every response. It was tragic, but it was also done by a severely unstable man who's mom took him out shooting and let him play games like Call of Duty. Those two make guns seem fun and harmless to a guy with severe mental issues. We don't need our rights taken away from us because of this idiotic mother and her crazy son.

In this instance me talking about the kids being shot is needed. Yes, the guy had mental issues, yes, his mother shouldn't have let him do those things. But, what does that say? He had mental issues and he was still allowed to buy a gun? Yeah. America is safe!

While we sit here and can claim the we are truely a free country. I would really like to see what would go through your mind if your government decided to strengthen your police and military and lock the country down as North Korea does. As people without firearms, you wouldn't get far at all. You would be forever stuck hoping another country would bail you out. At least we Americans could actually fight back and have a decent chance. It's the bigger picture here.

What are the chances of a country lock down? Very, very tiny. You're thinking about the bigger picture, but at what cost? Oh yeah, little kids being shot dead.

So there is a robbery. At a store and you are a victim. What would you do, you can't have gun's and if they have a gun you aren't going to run up there and try to hit them, especially if there was like 10 people. If your did country go on a lock down, you would just have to sit back and watch. At that point, the most you could do is pull out a knif, which is going to get you killed.

The point is, it's very rare that people will rob a store with a gun because they're illegal and you can't just go and buy one!

You act like your country is perfect, nothing happens and the sun shines ever day. Get back to reality, how much people do you think have guns in the UK? I'm sure it is millions.

How do I act as if the UK is perfect? This topic is a discussion on gun crime, in which, I'm giving my valid point saying that since we banned guns in the UK, the homicide rate has vastly been reduced. Whereas America has the highest gun crime in the developed world. Britain is far from perfect, but it's alot safer than America.

I rather be in a household with a gun, because anybody can come into your door right now with a knife and kill you right now . A bad mental ill person brakes into my house has a gun or a knife I would fire Upon entry

WHY AREN'T THERE ARMED GUERDS AT SCHOOLS already isreal does that and you don't see shooting there and all there teachers have guns and another reason you think banning guns is gonna stop a **** phycopath from killing children

banning guns doesnt help very much. criminals dont care if its illegal. in fact thatll just boost the black market for guns. which means they have guns, and the innocent, law abiding citizens will probably have only a baseball bat for defense.

also realize isreal is in a little different position than the US, they are tiny and everyone around them hates them and could possible invade them any second. also its law there for them to be enlisted in the military, which means they know how to handle a firearm. also instead of armed guards. why dont we try to have a better system of finding the psychos and putting them in a ward? i know that wont help every case, but neither will having guards.

His mother bought the gun and taught him how to shoot it.

Once again, I'll refer you back to my previous post. In Britain, the last mass shooting at a school was 40 years ago. We haven't had one since we put a ban in place afterwards. Yes, there's always going to be psychotic murderers out there, but, I'd feel much safer if I knew those phycho's didn't have a gun in their hand (which I do feel safe because I know they can't go to the nearest store and pick up an assault rifle).

Point is, you Americans can sit back and just watch these mass shootings of innocent kids go on and at the end of the day, all you care about are your guns. I mean, how many more shootings of presidents or innocent people will it take before you ban them?

What good is that doing for you guys. Sitting back and watching kids die? And it isnt easy just to get rid of guns, there would be so much more problems.

Ugh, why can't you ignorant people comprehend that if there were no guns, you wouldn't need guns to protect yourselves. Yes, it'll be difficult, but surely that's better in the long run?

What about all the guns that people already own? You think the military is going to rush into millions of peoples homes and find every gun and destroy it? Just the thought scares me. The riots and protests would be insane.. No need to call us ignorant when we are just debating.

I have no idea how the American government would handle banning guns. But they should do it. Blah blah blah it's against my rights. What about those kids who were shot innocently? They HAD rights, and now, because some crazy kid was able to buy a gun at a store, took away their rights.

Okay, I'm going to give you a hypothetical question, say one of your parents, or close relatives was shot dead for NO reason, would you be or against guns? Give me an honest answer.

Yea um I know for a fact a KID did not just walk up into a gun store and buy a gun. He got it from someone. And yea that kind of stuff happens, and I would be pretty upset but we can't just go out and ban every single gun. People die from illegal and legal drugs too, so how do we go about stopping that? All I know is changing the Constitution would make Americans furious. Why don't we just go back to school security, since so many killings are happening at schools now?

Actually, gun show loopholes. You can literally walk up to a guy at a gun show and buy 10 AR-15s without background checks, a drivers license, or proof of residency. All you have to do is show him the money. If drugs were legalized and regulated, there would be less ODs. Patriot Act and NDAA got rid of our 1st amendment. Americans didn't care. So our schools should be more like third world countries? Where your kids can get shot for being kids.

Yes, because Obama is obviously a dictator craving power. Get real. If I woke up and found "Hail your leader Barack Obama" posters everywhere, and armed MP on every street corner, than maybe this would be believable. Using points like that just make you seem un-educated and unaware of your surroundings.

Oh don't give me that load of bs. You know what I'm heading at. I don't honestly think he's a dictator you ignorant man. I was making a point. Disarming the people is not going to lower the death toll just like that. And how many will have to die until it finally makes a change??
It reminds me a lot of when they tried to prohibit alcohol, because they thought "hey this will stop the driving accidents and husbands will stop beating their wives" and before you say "DATS NOT RELATED" well it is very similar. And can you at least see the point I'm getting at, whether you believe it or not? Not trying to start an argument here. Expressing how I feel.
You honestly think comparing President Barack Obama to famous dictators throughout time is going to earn you respect from other people? Even if you don't think he's the next Monarchy, it looks bad comparing a person who is trying to help save some lives, to people who took so many.

If someone came into my house with a knife, it'd be a easier to disarm him than if he was holding a gun. Point already made.

You just wont give up, and you don't get that taking the guns away will stop it. If they are crazy enough and want to do it that bad, they will. Even if it takes stabbing him to death, hitting him, poisoning him, they will find a way.

I wouldn't say "Ban" guns because there are certain circumstantial situations where guns need to be used.
