I wouldn't know that answer but if i were to guess i would say that if you were to upload videos, you would be limited to 1080p.. but you would be able to view, whatever it is your viewing on your pc, at 4k res... for example. if you were to play Far Cry 3, you could see it at 4k resolution. but when you recorded a video of the gameplay, and uploaded it to youtube or something, you would be limited to 1080p. That would be my guess, you would have to try to do more research on the topic.

I don't think games support 4K yet - it's a very high demanding resolution for a single monitor. If the games supports it and you can find a recorder that records in 4K then yes - but fraps doesn't.

You're going to want a very good internet speed though, because you're looking at 2-5 times the file size of 1080p So say you record something that's 3GB big, that could become 15GB.

Another issue that they seemed to overlook is the monitor. Good luck finding a 4K monitor outside Asia! As far as I know, no companies that sell out of the US even make them yet. Give it another 2 or so years, and we should see 4K as the new standard for HD.

Edit- Never mind. Sharp announced a 32 inch monitor. Look here: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

There are also a few other US companies producing them, but not for a good enough price. My prediction still stands on the 2 years, however.
