planning to get GTX 690, almost $1000 GPU? and for a person not knowing about these stuff... aiming to high there...

today the best you can get is

GTX 670 , 680

PSU Requirement 600 watts above, To be safe,
(Recommend Corsair)

GTX 610 is PCIE 2.0, 670 or 680 or even 690 is PCIE 3.0 BUT THEY ARE REVERSE compatible with PCIE 2.0 so you should be fine, NO noticeable performance.

ALL PCIE 2.0 GPU, is DDR5. NO DDR3...

CPU is good. as long as you have Quad core capable of 3.0 GHZ, your good...

HDD, maybe get on the TeraByte boat.

RAM is good.

These should do you fine to upgrade your system -

7870 - [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

550w Modular PSU - [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

That's a very good PSU and should be fine with any future upgrades. It's a modular design which means that you only attach wires you need instead of having all of them.

Actually, it DOES matter whether its seated in a 3.0 16x or a 2.0 4x (admittedly not much, but for a performance whore....
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ) Furthermore, if this is primarily a BF3 build grab a 7870 or a 660 TI, also, the FX series are a flop and should be swapped for a Phenom X4 if covered by warranty. If not, don't bother - swictch to Intel as soon as budget permits to eliminate the bottleneck
