if you compare it to the Shivering Isles it is nothing at all and is not worth the price (comparison), dlcs just seem to be getting more expenisve

The main quest line is a few hours long... I think it was estimated that there is over 50 hours worth of gameplay with the side quests alone? Is that not enough for $20? If not, then don't buy it. They're not making you buy it. You chose to.

Took me 5 hours, level 14. Then again I did do a few side quests and just the regular messing around. I do agree the island is small, but the amount of effort Bethesda put into make a WHOLE NEW ISLAND is quick substantial to the 20$ you pay for maybe 2-3 hours of the Main quest line which doesn't even get you more then halfway around the island.

But hopefully they do put some sort of thought into the dragon riding overall, and hopefully having Wearbear as an option and a cool questline to earn over time as a new Beast Form.
I haven't played Dawnguard yet but I look forward to becoming a Vampire Lord (y)

Spears and dragon riding was a huge joke by BGS it will come eventually. Spears already exist on the PC through mods and their game jam proved a system for it works. We know BGS wouldn't add spears just to have them arrows when we wanted real spears all this time. It was a joke by Todd and the crew.

The DLC packs in fallout 3 were half the price of the ones in Skyrim but double the size.
