I find this incredibly frustrating. I never fall for scams, but I have friends who do. I don't see why people online will try scamming for MS points or whatever it may be. It's just pathetic that they can't earn something honestly. Today, when I signed onto Xbox, I had a message sent from one of my recent players, saying "Custom Gun Camo on BO2 for 800MSP." Anyone with a brain would know that it's complete garbage, yet people fall for scams every day. Kinda sad.

Rant done.

But in the scammers' point of view people are stupid enough to fall for it, just like governments make people think they will do good but they dont

You are online, alive and obviously have enough money to pay for this internet.
The government is doing just fine.

Yeah, I understand. I just hate people who do that sh*t. Exploit someone's stupidity in a different way, don't scam.

Well, the world of scamming revolves are gaining something for nothing, right?

You could say the same thing about players who try to scam legitimate hosters! It really comes down to not having the money, or a method of gaining money ie. parents, or even a job. I say this, because most scammers I've run into are very young, we're talking around the ages of 9 - 12, and sometimes up to 13-18. It's usually people who don't have means of an income, I think taking something from someone to have such small gains is ridiculous. I also think Microsoft (Since we're talking about MSP here) should dedicate more time to the xbox live enforcement team. They're great at nabbing a lot of problems, but live scams are hardly, if ever, dealt with, because there's usually no proof. If the XBL ET was more strict I believe scamming would be lowered big time. The higher the risk, the lower the pay off would seem I woould assume.

@Neko

I agree completely. Most scammers I have come across are very young. It sucks that they can't afford what they want, but that's life. I learned that real young. "You can't always have everything" It's such a shame. People like that disgust me.

@Kittenz, this sort of falls into what you were saying, my response to the above quote I mean:

Most governments help out a lot more than people realize. Sure, spending tax payers dollars on housing & food for the poor is a waste of our hard earned money, do you really want them to be on the streets? Most peoples opinions would be "Who cares? It's my money, I've earned it." Well, if homeless and poor started living in your parks & on your streets your house value, and area value would drop. You'd lose thousands upon thousands of dollars like that alone. You'd have less people working. Most jobs require you to have a place to live, they do not want a homeless person working for them. A lot of high end buisnesses, and even factories have even lower people working for them. If they lost those people, a lot of jobs would be lost, resulting in more poverty!

The problem with the government is that they can't make everyone happy in all aspects of our lives, I hate not getting what I want!

Scamming someone is kinda like stealing from a girls purse. Stealing from a purse is much more extreme, but you get the reference.

People who know better wont get scammed, and those who fall for stuff like that deserve to get scammed. Everyone must learn some way, and I'm sure once they fall for it once they won't fall for it again.
