It depends on what variation of the HD PVR. The HD PVR Gaming Edition 2 is better than the Elgato.

Just from what I've heard, Elgato is better because of the small, lightweight ability and the superior editing and recording program.

I have no personal experience with either though.. only the Dazzle lol.

HDPVR all the way... the pvr software is free the elgato software you have to pay for it.
+ I have a HDPVR
