Hey guys, I plan on getting some new headphones soon. And I was wondering what specs are good. I like to listen to Rock, Metal, Rap, Dubstep, and Techno. I was just wondering what sort of frequency range to look for, the impedence, and the Ohms. What do they all mean?

Frequency response (specwise) is essentially useless. Impedance is slightly important; it dictates the amount of current your amplifier/audio player has to send to the headphones. If you want to use them out of an iPod or something, you generally want something with a relatively low impedance and high sensitivity. None of this information is useful for determining what a headphone sounds like though. Generally. Increased impedance generally smoothens the highs and increases bass, but it's a relatively minute difference. The trade off is that you'll need a strong amplifier to send the power needed to allow you to hear them.

Listen to Ishcabible's word, he's one of the most headphone knowledgeable people I know. As far as amplifiers go for impedance, you can easily find a nice portable amp for a decently low price such as the FiiO E11 I'm rocking with my HM5s right now. I'd also imagine you're main source will be iPod/phone?
