if you dont wanna spend money you can try to prop the laptop up on something so the bottom isnt directly on a surface blocking the air floww

A laptop? That's why. Laptops naturally get hotter than any desktop ever would. To help out, cut down on the things you have open at the same time, all of that puts strain on your CPU, RAM, and other components thus causing heat issues. Make sure that it is 100% well ventilated. Do NOT lay it flat or on your lap, it decreases airflow A LOT. Also, open it up and clean out all that nasty dust that has accumulated over time.

- Don't use it on surfaces that will conduct heat like a bed.

- Buy some compressed air for $10 and go to town.

- A laptop cooler as a last resort.
