The T430 and T530 here are specced identically. The only difference is the screen size. Neither are made for gaming, but don't buy a laptop for gaming. Both have an option to upgrade to the Nvidia NVS 5400m graphics chipset for $50 extra and both have the $50 1600 x 900 panels included. Basically if you want to play light games like Minecraft and whatnot, you'll be fine. Even better with the graphics option.

Both will wipe the floor with that Dell in battery life, reliability, display quality, build quality, keyboard and input quality, software, upgrade-ability, cooling, and longevity. You do pay a bit more for the specs because these are top-of-the-line business-class laptops, though.

You won't need more than 4GB RAM for what you're doing and upgrading the hard drive and RAM is something you should do yourself instead of ordering from the factory.

I'm also noticing inconsistencies in the Dell computer listing. 500GB here, 750GB there. i5-2430m here, i5-2450m there. The Integrated HD4000 graphics on these Thinkpads will wipe the floor with the Intel 3000 in the Dell.
