The HTC EVO sucks you can either take my word on it or find out the hard way.

The battery is good but other than that everything else SUCKS.

It makes calls by itself text messages by itself.

Freezes

Restarts itself.

You probarly have a faulty model, Try factory reset from the HBOOT (hold all 3 buttons when powering on).

HTC Evo was an amazing phone (they are a bit dated now) and the Evo 4G was the first 4G phone

You definitely messed something up internally. The EVO is a great development platform and for its time it was a fantastic device, outlasted the 3D in EOL expectancy, do not listen to OP.
