2. Consoles haven't died until the 720/PS4 actually RELEASE, the 360/PS3 may be near their 'death' due to the upcoming release of 720/PS4, but it's not like people stop playing anything completely. Though if the release of BF4 on ps3/xbox is too close to the 720/PS4 release, it would hinder sales. Though they may still put it on older consoles. Te xbox and ps4 wont come out at the exact same time, and they wouldn't want to wait an extra month to release if, for example, ps4 is 2 months after 720.

There are lots of different factors to look at to determine if bf4 is next gen or not.
