When notch said herobrine was in the game it was just a joke.

Nobody knew if he was real or not until 1.7.3 when the update on pc came out it said herobrine removed.

Then later he told everyone it was just a hoax.

And that tells me what? That someone has proof of something that can easily be faked? Keep saying that but the creator of Minecarft and a bunch of the devs have all posted on Twitter that it is fake. So what? You saw a small image of what appeared to be him. Is it not at all possible that it was edited in? Until I see an up close and personal proof of him in game, my point stands. Minecraft is known for the young audience of people that play it. Do you REALLY think they'd implement something that secretive and scary? When herobrine was first implemented, if you'd scare them they would open their mouths and run after you. They patched the mouth opening because it scared the daylights out of too many kids.

I have been playing minecraft since 2009 and I have NEVER encountered one.

Notch and some of the Mojang team have confirmed Herobrine was never real on Twitter.
