Yah, I don't want his IP, I'm just saying, he needs it for his friends.

Thanks to everybody replied. Even if this was the safe one to give out, I'd trust my friends with my other one too, as I know that they don't know how to do anything with it. But I meant more along the lines of posting on TTG and asking people if they want to play Race For the Wool and telling them to PM for my ip for the server.

flop wrote Hi. Yesterday I portforwarded and I have a bukkit server setup for me and a few friends. I was going to advertise for a game of Race for the Wool, as we don't have enough players. Part of my IP is 50.82.***.** and I read somewhere that giving out your external IP is safe, but I'm unsure that this is my external IP. Any replies are appreciated, thanks

IPChicken- give that to people instead of your real ip!

Okay basically for the IP to your server you use the one on IPChicken or whatsmyip, but as for it being safe- who knows. There are plenty of people out there who go around DDoSing(denial of service). So the truth is, you are never truly 100% safe with your IP on TTG. If you can afford to do so, there are some really nice server hosters! It will be another IP, with a customizable server 24/7, ran by you.
May I suggest-
BukkitHost
FluctisHosting
BeastNode.
Those are few of many. Hope I helped!

Swagmire wrote Well his friends yes, but if he's mainly looking for fun and not server hosting then I recommend him keeping his IP only within him and his friends.

You don't need to post three times on the same damn thread.
