Interesting... It all makes sense now. I asked my friend at school earlier in the year if beats were worth getting. He said "yeah man definantly" I asked him why and he said, "Because the look cool". I was like:

That tends to be the only thing they can come up with. Then I break out my headphone porn and show them they aren't the only decent-looking cans out there!

Seriously bro. I tried my friend's beets (don't remember which ones) then later put on $5 headphones my dad had and the $5 ones sounded better -.- I found that to be funny though.

Your budget: 50 bucks (US DOLLARS)

Which genres you'll be listening to: Rock, Dubsteb

What kind you want: Doesn't matter. I like both.

Whether you want open or closed headphones: Either is fine.

What you are listening from: iPod, Laptop

If you want something bassy that's more geared toward dubstep, get the Sony XB500, AKG K518, or Philips Citiscape Metro. For something that will handle both very well and if you're OK with open on-ear headphones, the Koss Portapro is just downright awesome.

If you're more concerned about quality, get something that's wired. You have to compromise a lot to get wireless, and you pay a lot more for the same sound you'd get in wired headphones. If you want a portable, full-size bassy headphone, check out the Ultrasone Pro 900, Audio Technica Pro 700 MkII, and V-Moda LP2. Here's the best price I've been able to find on the Pro 900, but you'll have to wait a bit until they're in stock. I'm pretty sure B&H ships to Canada, and you can contact them to inquire about stock of these if you want. Sign up for email notifications like I did, that's how I got my friend a pair for this price.

If you want something on-ear, you could get the Audio Technica ES10, but I'm not sure about availability or pricing. Instead you could get the Aiaiai TMA-1 or wireless Sennheiser MM400. The AKG K181DJ is great too if you want to save some money.

If you must have wireless over-ear headphones, you could get the Sennheiser MM 500-X or MM 550.

Thanks for the help im thinking of the sennheiser

Budget: Hmm.. like $400 max probably, give me some cheaper options too though please!

Music preference: Dubstep, Chart Music, Dance

Type / form factor and portability: I know your not going to like this hahaa, but preferably beats I like the idea of portability and being able to have my phone hooked up so i can use the hands free option. Let me know what beats you recommend and also other brands. They need to look good too though! These will be used mostly on my iPhone and Laptop.

Open/Closed (Not for in-ear): I'll let you decide.
(PM Please!)

Thanks in advance, CS8
