Either by-pass it, which depends on the iOs version currently installed on the device, or plug it in via your Apple Sync cable, (USB 2.0), and follow the on-screen instructions, or take the receipt, box/case and the iPod to your local Apple store, with some ID.

Well the only way is don't put a pass code in. Plug your iPod in to your laptop/Pc then hold the top button for exactly three seconds then hold the top and the center button for 10 seconds then release the top button but keep holding the center button for 15 seconds then your iPod will be in DFU mode then a box on your computer should say a iPod in recovery mode then recover it
