I am wondering whether or not this tool is reliable and whether it is a good tool to use to help protect my computer?

It's a good tool and will pick up most virus that aren't fud and might even pick up a few Fud's but yes use it to preform scans every once in a while.

Yes. In my opinion and for my purposes, it's the perfect AV. Free, simple, lightweight, unintrusive, fast, small, and clean.
