Im completely new to the whole xbox dvd flashing spoofing thing. But i do RGHing all the time.
I got a USBpro v2, and have been spoofing/flashing dvd drives to RGHd xboxes with no drive.

What i want to know is:
i.e. The original KV uses a liteon, and i have a spare hitachi. Can i patch the KV to use the hitachi, make a new stock nand, then Un-RGH the xbox, put it back on new stock nand, and use the hitachi on live?

just patch kv dont spoof it causes problems with LT2.0 - 3.0 ON MOST DRIVES.

if it wasnt rgh'd i would say get the matching drive but since your using it on a rgh system you dont need to spoof the drive type

I wouldnt even be putting Lt+ on it.
But if i patch the KV and leave the drive on stock firmware (with the correct key of course). I can go on live and not have to worry about getting banned right?

Sorry i was wrong by saying to patch KV, what i ment was DVD KEY. It would work either way.

If your trying to put a replacement drive in retail system (stock fw)you should put the correct drive and key although if your flashed spoofing OSIG(drive type) should be safe.

Hmmm...
I work with a guy who fixes xboxes. I bought a usbpro v2, and ive done a couple consoles for him. I've put the exact model drive that the nand uses. But he has consoles, and drives that dont match. Thats why i wondering if i just change the OSIG in the nand through j-runner and flash the nand back to the console. Then flash use that dvd drive.
i RGH consoles, but he just wants to rebuild them. and have them on retail software. No RGH, no flashed drives.
=/
